CHANGES STARTS WITH ME

Changes should start in me. Many were telling bad things about our country. But one man asked if as a Filipino had done to change or movement for it. I felt sorry for it. I had things that I am saying about the government but how about did I had a move to change it?

          That’s the question that challenges me. What can I do to change the bad things that were happening today? Do I have any plan for it? Can I do it in my own? That’s also a problem that runs in mind.

          I looked myself in the mirror if I can do it. My reflection answered me that I can do it if first I will have a change in myself. I remembered what my friend told me that in solving problems first I will have to reflect myself if there have to be changed. They said that changes starts in us. This becomes a challenge to me. I used first changed myself to be a model to others. Being a model to others is a great thing to be done. So I should first change myself to have a new world, new country, and new life.

          In doing this I must first know what to change as woman. I must know the attitudes I will have. And today I will start to have a start for changes.

Kannawidan: Ylocos Festival

            showcase what they have their products and their talents. And for this the government of Ilocos Sur organized a festival to showcase what Iloconos have. This festival was called “KANNAWIDAN: YLOCOS FESTIVAL”. These will the culture, traditions and roducts of all the municipalities and cities of Ilocos Sur.

          Us CAT Officers and the COLT trainees were required to attend the opening program at stadium. The ceremony started late because we waited for Sen. Cynthia Villar as our guest. Talents were showcased during this day. Many  had showcased the Ilocano dance which is tadet. They told that it is the ancient dance of Ilocos.  I was inspired with this. They were all performed well. I am proud that I am an Ilokano. I with my COLT friends went around the stadium to see the products of the municipalities and cities of Ilocos Sur. I saw the bigget animals, vegetables and foods of Ilocos Sur. It is a contestant for which is the biggest of all.

          Many activities were also conducted to celebrate this festival. Every government agencies have contests. For the Agriculture is the “pinaka”. This will be judged according Ilokanos were creative. They want to be lifted up like other tribes. They want to

to their characteristics. They have also the competition for the Nasisiglat Ilokanos. I am proud to say that my mother were one who are awarded during the “Pammadayaw kadagiti Nasisiglat.” She ranked as second runner-up.

          I am proud that I am an Ilokano coz Ilokanos were very talented. Thir not only Kuripot as what they say but also intelligent and talented. We Ilokanos should be peoud of our culture, traditions and all what we had. And lastly I salute all the heroes who fought for Ilocos and also with our government headed by Gov. Ryan Singson.

NEW YEAR, NEW ME!

            Every time the year end people were writing in a piece of paper what they want to be for the next year. They write on it what will they do, improve or change in their selves and their attitudes. As for me, I did’t do it coz I now that anytime I can change myself.    

          Happy New Year to all!1 happy Wooden Horse. Boom, bam!!! That’s what I hear everywhere. Fireworks were seen in the sky. Greetings were seen in my phone and they were wishing everybody a good new year to come. I went to my relatives to greet them. Then when 12:01 comes I go home and I greeted my family. I promised to them what I want to be done for this year. I told to them that I will strive harder because 2013 is good to me about my studies. Many were done not so good for the last year 2013. I told to them that I will be more faithful to God as my Saviour. They told to me to be a better student, daughter and sister. And I promised to them that I will do it.

          Friends of mine were also having wishes for me for this year. They wanted me to be a better friend and a sister to them. I also told to them we will be in one to graduate and follow our paths in fulfilling our dreams and goals in life. I also told to them what the things they should also improve or change. They accepted what I told to them and I also did it to accept and I thanked it for it.

          For this year 2014 I will change all the bad things I did for the last year. I will be a better student to fulfil my dreams. I will more faithful to God. And lastly to be a good friend, sister and daughter.

                

Moving Forward

               Third grading was an enjoyable time to have blogging. Activities that were done during this time were posted as projects of us. The Advent season which we celebrated were one which our teacher required to us to post. I’m happy that I posted all not like the past grading periods that I didn’t finish all posting.

                For this grading we also have HTML’s. we used HTML tags. I enjoyed doing my activities because many things were learned by mine. I’m sure all of these can be use for the future. Especially to the profession I would like to have. I want all the things I have learned now will be transferred to my students and to my family.

                I am thankful to our Almighty God for giving me this opportunity to be one of the students of the Special Science. For having in this I made to be proud of myself.

Let’s Celebrate the Coming of Christ

                Advents is the period of time on the church calendar when Christians prepare to celebrate the first coming of Christ while looking forward to His second coming. During Advent, we emphasize hope, peace, joy and love, which God sent with Christ.

                Hope for we have an inheritance reserved in heaven, a living hope through the resurrection of Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3-5). Peace for we will love life and see good days, if we turn from evil and do good and if we seek peace, for the Lord watches over the righteous and hears their prayers (3:10-12). Joy for we have inexpressible joy even though we have trials because our faith is being tested and proven genuine. The end of this faith is the salvation of our souls (1:6-9). And last love, for we can love one another with a pure heart because we have been born again through the Word of God which lives and abides forever (1:22-23). Because Christ came the first time, we can live with hope, peace, joy, and love till He comes again.

                For this season we should be closer to God. Look for Him and put it in your heart. Accept him as our God and Saviour.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

For today’s all for the people were. Equal education was given to all unlike in the past that boys can only have to enter to school and girls were in their own houses. And they also said that the women were discriminated and cannot be easily apply for works because they only allow men to be in work.

Gender-based discrimination is irrevocably connected to negative health outcomes for women and girls. Its associated poor health outcomes are often compounded by other forms of inequality related to socioeconomic status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation or geographical location. While these challenges are imposing, and often encoded in "normalized" ways of living, International Women's Day renews our commitment to denounce violations in human rights and to challenge unequal systems, structures and practices that perpetuate health inequalities across the world.

So thank you to the one who made law that men and women should the equal rights and opportunities. Because God created us equalled, he love men as he love the women. Now the people have now the equal rights and opportunities for better future for all of us.

Gender equality and gender opportunities are good for all of us and for our health.

Earth’s Destruction

               

                God created all here in universe. He created the nature which is full of plants, animals, and bodies of water and land. He has given His children the authority to be the steward of His creation. When He crated his children, He was so happy for He knows there will be to watch over His creation. But when His children were too much crowded, many were done for the destruction of the nature. One of it is the climate change.

                 Climate is usually defined as the “average weather” in a place. It includes patterns of temperature, precipitation (rain or snow), humidity, wind and seasons. Climate patterns play a fundamental role in shaping natural ecosystems, and the human economies and cultures that depend on them. But the climate we’ve come to expect is not what it used to be, because the past is no longer a reliable predictor of the future. Our climate is rapidly changing with disruptive impacts, and that change is progressing faster than any seen in the last 2,000 years.

According to the report, Preparing for a Changing Climate, rising levels of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere have warmed the Earth and are causing wide-ranging impacts, including rising sea levels; melting snow and ice; more extreme heat events, fires and drought; and more extreme storms, rainfall and floods. Scientists project that these trends will continue and in some cases accelerate, posing significant risks to human health, our forests, agriculture, freshwater supplies, coastlines, and other natural resources that are vital to Washington state’s economy, environment, and our quality of life.

Because so many systems are tied to climate, a change in climate can affect many related aspects of where and how people, plants and animals live, such as food production, availability and use of water, and health risks. For example, a change in the usual timing of rains or temperatures can affect when plants bloom and set fruit, when insects hatch or when streams are their fullest. This can affect historically synchronized pollination of crops, food for migrating birds, spawning of fish, water supplies for drinking and irrigation, forest health, and more.

Some short-term climate variation is normal, but longer-term trends now indicate a changing climate.

Our state and societies around the globe need to reduce human-caused greenhouse gas emissions to avoid worsening climate impacts and reduce the risk of creating changes beyond our ability to respond and adapt. Washington state is addressing this challenge and has adopted policies to reduce energy use, limit greenhouse gas emissions, and build a clean energy economy. Some changes in climate — and impacts on our state — are unavoidable, even if we reduce greenhouse gas emissions today. But we can take more actions to reduce progressively worsening impacts.

                                                              Modern Day Heroes

    All of us can be a hero. Heroes are persons who made good things to others. They help others, they share their blessings. Heroes like Jose Rizal fought for our freedom. He used his knowledge in writing and other more. Andres Bonifacio and other heroes fight using their swords. They fought for our freedom with wars. But more than this what they did there were persons I salute most our farmers.
    Farming is a great profession. Without farmers we do not have food to eat. We were not being existed in this wonderful world. They plant and they harvest it before we can buy in the markets. They make sure that all of us will taste foods that they planted. They were our heroes so that we exist. But a big problem to them was existing. They were making jokes to them. They still their funds. Not equal chances were given to them. Some of their funds were stolen by the government officials who shall not be done. There’s also a big problem, their plants harvested or their fruits were not send to the people because of the lack of ways. They were one victim of the government anomalies. They were poor enough so now let’s save them.
Be thankful to the farmers because they were our heroes. They plant foods for us. So don’t make things that can harm them. Be proud that you are farmers because you are our heroes.

ENGLISH

Universal Language: English

English is our universal language. It is the uniting language. Many told that without English language no unity for all nations. So in the Philippines, English is on one of the main subjects in schools. In some required the use of English language inside their campuses.

          The Americans were the first to introduce to us about English. They became teachers of our ancestors they taught to them about the alphabet and some words. I can say that our ancestors are much better in speaking English compared to us in this century.  Now the youths were problematic about speaking English. They were ashamed because they cannot straighten their speaking skill in English.

Modern English, sometimes described as the first global lingua franca, is the dominant language or in some instances even the required international language of communications, science, information technology, business, seafaring, aviation, entertainment, radio, and diplomacy. Its spread beyond the British Isles began with the growth of the British Empire, and by the late 19th century its reach was global. Following British colonisation from the 16th to 19th centuries, it became the dominant language in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The growing economic and cultural influence of the US and its status as a global superpower since World War II have significantly accelerated the spread of the language across the planet.^[21]English replaced German as the dominant language of science-related Nobel Prize laureates during the second half of the 20th century. English equalled and may have surpassed French as the dominant language of diplomacy during the second half of the 19th century.

A working knowledge of English has become a requirement in a number of fields, occupations and professions such as medicine and computing; as a consequence, more than a billion people speak English to at least a basic level (see English as a second or foreign language). It is one of six official languages of the United Nations.

One impact of the growth of English is the reduction of native linguistic diversity in many parts of the world. The influence of English continues to play an important role in language attrition.Conversely, the natural internal variety of English along with creoles and pidgins have the potential to produce new distinct languages from English over time.
